ABOUT MY PHOTOGRAPHS 06/2026

My website contains three galleries of images made on the eastern end of Long Island.

Seascapes displays images of Long Island Sound and grew out of my interest in photographing the rocks along the north shore. I grew up in a small private community on the Sound and was always curious about these huge metamorphic rocks just down the street. After moving back to the island in 2014 I started photographing them along with other subject matter on the east end. For me the shore is a place to go to decompress and enjoy nature, open space and tranquility. I especially like early evening when everyone has gone and the sea calms. Because of individual town beach restrictions though, I’m only able to photograph in the off season.

Sideshows seemed an appropriate catch-all title for images made of Americana and built environments beside the sea or somehow related to it. It also includes tidal estuaries and a few images from my recent trip to New England.

The Americana gallery is developing similarly to Sideshows but displays buildings and houses from bygone eras. Vernacular architecture reflects some of the history of eastern Long Island and New England. Like other man made objects placed in landscape, architecture tells us something about the ordinary lives and everyday endeavors of people who lived and dwelled in a specific region and left their mark.

I sell online to keep my overhead and prices low and offer archival paper prints, canvas wraps, metal and acrylic prints and digital downloads. My equipment includes Canon 35mm pro cameras/lenses. I also use an iPhone 15 Pro Max and have uploaded a few images to this site. A well exposed iPhone image will easily print to 16 x 20. These images are lower in price. PayPal and Stripe payment processing are available at checkout. I also accept Zelle and Apple Pay. Though I upload some images to stock databases, if you are seeking specific content for editorial/commercial use, please contact me.
