I make nature landscapes that show the beauty of Long Island and my preference for quiet empty places and cinematic views. I also capture landscapes with man made objects in them to suggest either a vanishing culture or nature transformed.

I grew up on north shore in a private community bordering Long Island Sound. I spent a lot of time at the beach early on and developed a life long preference for space and vastness - the open sea and sky. The Sound is a rock laden sea with a rock laden coastline, deposited eons ago through glacial advancement. It reminds me of Monument Valley because I get the same sense of expansive space and time that I encountered there. To underscore that sensibility, I try to capture the Sound's surreal and romantic qualities through changing light and atmospheric conditions.

Additionally, I photograph several bay, harbor and wetland estuaries tied to the Sound and the Atlantic Ocean for their scenic attributes and for my ability to still access them. Unfortunately, as more and more water front land is privatized and altered, the social and physical fabric of the island is being transformed. The same applies to the old world Americana being replaced with landscaped properties and industries that create erosion, water and surface pollution along with severe loss of animal habitat. What was once a place of natural beauty and abundance is being reshaped by forces that are sometimes and sometimes not beneficial. It's also why I photograph built environments; to acknowledge the everyday things we make and place in the landscape but take for granted, some of which are beneficial, some of which are not.

Though sometimes asked, I haven't exhibited here much, preferring to sell online while building a body of work. This helps keep my overhead and prices lower. I offer archival paper prints, canvas wraps, metal and acrylic prints and digital downloads. My equipment includes Canon 35mm pro cameras/lenses. Sometimes I use an iPhone 15 Pro Max. A well exposed iPhone image will print to 16 x 20. These images are priced lower. PayPal and Stripe payment processing are available at checkout. I also accept Zelle and Apple Pay. Though I upload some images to stock databases for those seeking specific content for editorial/commercial use, my prices are guided by the American Society of Media Photographers.
